This page contains information about the Recording settings that the users can adjust to fit their needs.

Recording Feature

CameraTwin lets you record the incoming stream of every CameraTwin Source. The user can adjust the recording settings to fit the needs of the project.

Recording Settings Defaults

You can find the Recording settings defaults in the Project Settings -> CameraTwin -> Recorder Default Settings. The default settings are set as initial settings for every newly created CameraTwin Source.

Within the control panel the user can find the following settings related to recording the received video and metadata streams.

Fields

  1. Recording Enabled: toggle on/off the recording in UE.

  2. Folder Path: the location that the recording files will be stored both inside the Content Folder and inside the Saved folder of the project. The CameraTwin Recording and the SoundWave Assets are stored in the Content folder while the Image and Metadata sequence files as well as the audio file are stored inside the same subfolder in the Saved folder of the project.

  3. Asset Name: the multiple part name template that will be used for the Recording Asset and the recording folder. There is also a result preview of the current selections below these inputs

    1. Static Part: This will be included as is. Suitable for entering the Project or scene name here. (It should not include space or special characters apart from '_' and '-' )

    2. Include Source Name: Toggle option to include the respective source name in the template, this is especially convenient for Multi-Camera setups

    3. Dynamic Part: Optionally to include a dynamic suffix based on

      1. None: this will leave the dynamic part empty

      2. DateTime: this will add a suffix based on the date and time at the start of the recording with the following format Day-Month-Year--Hours-Minutes-Seconds e.g. 10-10-2024--10-10-10

      3. Take: this will add a "Take_#" suffix to the recording name with the number of the take starting at 1 and ascending automatically with subsequent recordings. The take number resets automatically if the rest of the name is changed.

  4. Auto Save: toggle auto save of the Recording Asset or not

  5. Image Format: The file type that the image sequence files will be encoded and stored.

  6. Est. Disk Bandwidth: According to the selected image format there is an estimation of the required disk write bandwidth. This is calculated based on FHD resolution and at 30 FPS for 4K it will be about 4 times more.

  7. Image Quality: It’s only relevant for the JPEG image format with 100 being the greatest quality, but resulting in bigger files while lower values reduce the image quality but significantly reduce the file sizes.
